Public pregnancy care at Fairfield starts with a referral to the hospital.

  2. Or upload your own referral. If you already have a referral letter, you can upload it yourself through the SWSLHD self-referral portal.
  3. Wait to hear from the hospital. The hospital team reviews your referral and may contact you if they need more information.
  4. Go to your booking visit. Every woman sees a hospital doctor at least once and is then referred to the right clinic. A midwife also checks your notes to make sure you are in the correct clinic.
  5. Book your classes. Birth and early parenting classes and breastfeeding classes are booked online through links on the SWSLHD Antenatal Clinic page.
