What is the Ipswich Hospital birthing suite like?

Birth Suite is Ward 5D, on level 5. When you arrive, a midwife checks your health and talks with you about your birth preferences. The birthing rooms have fit balls, mats, heat packs and seating for your support person.

You can have up to two support people with you in labour, and they can help you with choices such as pain relief. If you are in MGP, your midwife will be with you for a planned induction or caesarean birth.

Yes. The Special Care Nursery is Ward 5A, on level 5, and cares for babies who are born early or are unwell. Some babies who need more specialised care go to a hospital outside the West Moreton region.
