How do I book in at Osborne Park Hospital maternity?
Which public hospital you can use depends on your home postcode. Osborne Park takes women with low to moderate risk pregnancies, so women with complex pregnancies may be referred to King Edward Memorial Hospital instead.
- See your GP. Your GP sends an antenatal referral. Ask them to name Osborne Park Hospital on it.
- Ask for the care you want. If you would like Midwifery Group Practice, your GP can request it on the referral. Tell your GP if you would like GP shared care.
- Wait to hear about your model. Places with a named midwife depend on local eligibility and availability. If a model is full, you can join a waitlist and see the midwives' clinic in the meantime.
- Book your classes and a tour. Parent education workshops are mostly live online, and tours of the maternity ward and birthing suites run every Sunday at 9am.
What pregnancy care options does Osborne Park Hospital offer?
- Midwifery Antenatal Postnatal Service (MAPS). A continuity of care model that gives each booked woman a named midwife.
- Midwifery Group Practice (MGP). A model for women from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, open to women of all risk categories. Ask your GP to request it on your referral.
- GP shared care. Your GP gives your care up to and including the birth, if they have admitting rights at OPH. There is no out-of-pocket cost for hospital services from GP obstetricians, but your GP may charge for visits at their rooms. You also have planned visits to the OPH clinic.
- Shared care with a private midwife. Antenatal shared care is also possible with an endorsed privately practising midwife.
- Midwives' clinics. General clinics for women who are waiting for, or not in, MAPS or MGP.

To see the rooms in person, book a tour of the maternity ward and birthing suites. Tours run every Sunday at 9am, and you can bring one support person.
